40 Years From Now, We Might Drive 2F2 Electric Vehicle

In the years to come, technology will take us to a level that become difficult to predict or think about at present. Nevertheless, there are designers who every now and then come up with a vehicle that seems fit enough in the future scenario. Here is a vision from Brazilian designer, Thiago Vieira, who has envisioned a vehicle for 2050. He has named his vehicle 2 for 2 (2F2) which is a design study of a futuristic vehicle intended for 40 years from now. This vehicle is powered by 90hp electric motor and features aluminum body structure for urban use. The concept uses less energy to help prolong your ride and is equipped with various equipments that improve driver’s interaction with the other vehicles.

The black shiny carbon bodywork along with glowing blue lines, appearance of the racing car and the super bike can attain the attention of all range of extreme sports lovers. The Survolt features an emission-free, eco-friendly engine and propels by two powerful electric motors empowered by two 31kw lithium-ion batteries ensuring 200 km of smooth driving. The Agni Z2 on the other hand features a pack of 80 batteries giving the bike a 3.5 seconds torque to reach 60 mph from 0.

Eight Finalists Of Electrolux Design Lab 2010 Design Competition

Electrolux design lab has announced the eight finalists of their design competition 2010 that was focused on creative solutions for compact future living. Industrial design students throughout the world has submitted their innovative ideas on preparing and storing food, washing cloths and do dishes, and here you can see the 8 finalists.


1. The Kitchen Hideaway by Daniel Dobrogorsky

Think of a food, and get it served. The kitchen hideaway gives user the opportunity to visualize a food and transmit it to the robotic chefs located in a distinguished place who will prepare the meal with real ingredients. This concept diminishes the need of individual kitchen in every house of a communal buildings and thus, saves a lot of space.


2. The Snail by Peter Alwin

Cooking on the go. The snail concept is a compact and versatile cooking device that can be attached directly on to a pan, a pot, a mug, etc. to heat the content through magnetic induction process. Empowered by high density sugar crystal battery, this concept lessens the amount of space needed for conventional cooking while giving ultimate portability.


3. Elements Modular Kitchen by Matthew Gilbride

Kitchen shelving becomes more efficient. A range of individual units creates a complete solution for cooking, air conditioning, refrigeration, lighting and environmental design, powered by solar energy through wireless technology applied in the wall which minimizes the space required as well.

The device is a sustainable gardening system that utilizes the benefits of Earthworms. The designer, Seung Kim, thought about the idea while reading a newspaper article regarding underground water contamination due to chemical fertilizers. This water saving gardener system with worm-juice. The Eco-Drop system is designed to streamline the currently complicated process of using the worm-juice as a fertilizer. It promotes a safer and sustainable way to nurture plants and vegetables in people’s lawns and gardens. The system includes a worm compost bin, a feed tank, and compatible irrigation systems: includes a sprinkler with a spike, and an oscillating sprinkler, that connects to a standard garden hose.

Using Eco-Drop is simple and easy! The system includes feed-tanks that you use to conveniently transfer worm-juice from the worm compost bin to any of Eco-Drop’s irrigation system. Simply, connect your garden hose to the irrigation system and let the Eco-Drop do the rest. The specially designed tube in the feed-tank regulates the mixing of the worm-juice with water, allowing the worm-juice to go straight from the wormcompost bin to the system’s compatible irrigation systems. The concept features a set of syringes each with different graphics from which kids will be able to choose one. Moreover, the entire procedure of taking blood will be demonstrated to the child in a pedagogic way to make them comfortable with the process. The process has been designed by doing thorough investigation of the nursing activities to provide an outcome that really helps kids to get out of the fear of syringes.
